looking at RE, any advice

i have been(and still am for a lil bit longer) in iraq, so im savin the shit outta some money. so there really isnt a budget concerne. i know ill have the space, so thats not going to be a problem, but, i do want to get this going as soon as i can. meaning i want all the stuff sitting in my house so i can go play as soon as i get back

Well you need to decide what your goals are for this system. There's a big difference in the scale of the systems you are asking about here (ranging from a single 12 to multiple 15's). Usually a person has some idea (like I have this much space, or this much power, or this much money). If you are just asking what's the biggest, baddest setup of those choices, well obviously it'll be the multiple 15's. But do you really need that much (this coming from someone with two xxx15's btw)? Formulate a plan, set a goal, set some boundaries... budget is the usual boundary, which you say isn't an issue. You need to find out what ARE your boundaries/issues, this will make your choices more clear.

Good luck in Iraq btw. Much respect for ya.

something that feels like my chest is gonna cave in.
That's an easy feeling to get. Just lay down and have someone drive over your chest with a car.

Keep in mind that with an overly powerful substage like you are planning, you are likewise going to need an equally powerful frontstage. Don't blow all your money on subs/amps/electrical and run them with the stock interiors. That's just gay.

sorry, i was too vague(and i should have actually thought about what i was asking too), i guess what i should have asked was what type of box would be recomended for 2 15" xxx, if i was too mainly listen to rap and electronica.

Id recommend 8-12 cubes, tuned in the low to mid 30's (lower for more SQ, higher for more output).

thanks, also, what are your thoughts on "snail shell" boxes, in general, a good box, or would it be just as good to build a "regular" box for the subs
I'd stick with ported. I've never seen a good enough reason to shell out the hundreds of dollars they want for their boxes.

Low tuned ported box of proper size will give you great results.
