which of the 2 would you get? i got my $500 paycheck and im going to use it towards one of the two subs and an amp this week

either way, in the end the sub will be in an 3.5ft@ 32-35hz.

70:30 ratio for rap to screamo/metal mix, for musical tastes.

your opinions will be greatly appreciated

those specs are IDEAL for an sx... and i can def comment... they are entry level spl drivers... and one is all you need to turn heads... people are amazed at how loud one sub can get in the right enclosure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The point to my comment was, will it perform adequately for a set-up that has some demand for SQ?
Well it did replace the HC, so the guys at RE seem to think it has some good SQ potential. Ive never seen RE advertise the SX as an SPL sub, only as a 'street beater'. Its everyone else that wants to label them SPL drivers.

Whether or not you can get those nice db numbers out of an SX like we've been seeing and still maintain good SQ is another story entirely though, in which case I would suggest a XXX, Brahma, W7, etc instead.

In this case, I think Id try the Avalanche. Ive been thinking of buying one too before their stock runs completely out.

whats the rms and peak watts for the ava15? 700w rms?

i wouldnt even notice too much of a difference between the two subs if i put them both in the same box pushing each through a little bit more than their rms would i?

thanks for the replies thus far. if i get more votes for the ava, ill probably order it by the end of this week before they run out.

I have had a 15"SX and it didnt sound that bad it got loud as **** and to me it sounded pretty **** descent. Id get the SX. Potential to get loud for sure and sound good.

The Avalanch is a low-end monster. The SX is not so much so. The Ava has the potential to linerally displace a bit more, but the SX might indeed get louder (with distortion considered). Id get the Ava, but thats me.
