Looking at options. Opinions very welcome

Just an exhaust and short throw...
Its a Skar VVX 12 and 600 isnt hardly any power lol you can do that power with on amp no problem...
even on a 5 channel? I have not seen RMS that high on a 5 channel amp yet, but as you know i am new to this stuff so dont throw too many rocks yet! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

a hurst short throw? There are tons of mods for that car.

I am putting a new rear end and a tune on mine which i am buying this weekend. The rear end I have not decided if i want a 3.55 or 3.73. Tune is most definitely the next thing and tint.

The 5 ch. I have does 1100 hahaha... I know there is Id probably just flip it thou, there are way to many in this town and I am a truck guy...

There are a few 5 channels that put out 600+ to the rear channel. The Massive Audio NX5 does 120x4 for the front channels and 800rms to the sub channel. Waiting to get home to install it.

Thanks for all your opinions, when i have more questions I will be sure to ask. Looks like i have a lot of 'splainin to do to myself via research!!

but first, why would i need class A/B for the fronts and class D for the sub? I always thought(or at least what i thought I read) was that class D was the purest power?

No, class A/B tends to be a better SQ topology for amplifiers. I say tends to be because technology is allowing for better quality class D's all the time. When I first got into car audio like 20 years ago, nobody would even consider a class D amp for subs... but now a days there are even some full range class D amps (home audio). But yes, generally speaking, its still true that A/B's are better for anything other than subs.

Feel free to pop in here and ask questions whenever you want. Welcome to the hobby.

Everyone always says I just want a small setup and it always ends in 1000's of watts and 1000's of dollars lol
Why is that not surprising!! I used to be huge into golf; I was a club "Ho" if you will and i found that in the end it does not matter what you have. The only thing that matters is how pure you hit the ball.

I can see that this audio obsession can quickly make me an "audio HO". Along with the myriad of upgrades for the car, this one should keep me occupied for a while.

honestly guys, thanks a ton!

I started with a 300 watt system saying I will never need more and wont do anything more then stock electrical cant handle... Now Im gunna be running over 3000 watts and adding batts hahaha

The golf example is a pretty good one. Expensive clubs with titanium heads, graphite shafts and square grooves can increase your potential, but is no guarantee you will become a good ball striker. Expensive audio equipment can increase your potential performance, but is no guarantee of a high quality sounding system.
