Looking at kicker and alpine amps.

So after looking at a bunch of Speaker discussions. I have come to realize that there are much better options than kicker and alpine. So Hopefully I don't much crap for saying this.

I have 2 kicker l7's and they are dual 4. So I am either going to wire them down to 1Ohm or up to 4Ohms. I had a hifonics bxi 1608d. It was rated for 1600 @1ohm. I am sure it didn't do its rated power, but it was a monster.

Now I am looking at a kicker zx 2500 and an alpine mrx m2540. I am going to be running my subs on both amps @4ohms. I can get either one for a 400 dollars. Between these two amps, which one would you think is better.

Just a quick comparison of the specs will tell you the story between the two:

Kicker - 2500x1 @ 14.4 with

Alpine - 2400x1 @ 14.4 with

Kicker - response 25hz-200hz, >95db signal to noise ratio

Alpine - response 5hz-400hz, >108 signal to noise ration winner Alpine

Kicker - variable lowpass 50hz-200 @24db, fixed subsonic 25hz @ 24db

Alpine - variable lowpass 50hz-400hz @ 24bd, variable subsonic 5hz-30hz @ 24db winner Alpine

Kicker - dampening factor ?! not even listed!

Alpine - dampening factor >1000

Alpine has roughly the same power, with less distortion, at a wider bandwidth, with a better noise floor, and superior signal processing.

Just my opinion based on the published manufacturers specs.
