how the **** does getting good grades have ANYTHING to do with "deserving" a $30k+ car.you didn't earn shit... i work my *** off at my 4:30 to 12 job to afford an 89 mustang.. I earned that ****in car! you saying that since you did your homework and did well on tests means you "earned" your car is fucking bullshit!

if i had a kid, i would set a limit at like 15k for the first car, and i would buy it all at first and have them pay me back for half of it. Thats what my parents did for my first car, but my limit was 4k.

you're **** right i'd set a limit for my own child. If you don't set limits, they turn out like gmonk. I think, when you make them make payments on something rather than just getting it out of nowhere, it prepares them for what actually living in the real world is like. It did for me anyway, I know I have to budget my money and car/insurance etc. payments come first...

these kids that have never paid for anything in their **** lives expect to just get everything, what are they going to do when they want to move out??

if your kid gets straight A's all the way through 10th grade, and then only gets 1 in a hard honors class, you dont feel they deserve a reward????

and i ALSO said i worked with my dad at our motel....since i could walk (not literally) i was helping him with what i could. im 17 almost 18 now, figure a good 12 years of work there....and you dont think that deserves a reward??

then again im the last child....but that doesnt matter as much.

now my parents didnt buy anything audio wise. all that was saved money and working with my dad after i got the car. i used to sell cds to get money, and sure enough it made me a lot of money.

i dont go up to my dad and say "oh can i have 50 bucks for this, 50 for that" no i dont do that.

my parents are just willing to help me, and my brothers.

my brother just had a car problems so my mom is going to pay his insurance, so what he's spoiled now b/c he couldnt cut it and make enough to cover all of that???

no **** that, he said when he sold our motel he'd buy me a car, and since he doesnt want to sell it for a couple more years, he decided to get me one now.

my dad is completely against all of my audio upgrades, so im not getting shit from him.

i work with my dad in daytona, shit during spring break in daytona i'd skip school just to help my 60year old dad from busting his *** all day cleaning rooms; and guess what i still got those grades (with NO effort).

no one on here knows me, but to say i havent busted my *** is false. you clean 16 rooms in 3-4hours going up and down stairs carrying shit during spring break (when its SUPER dirty) and tell me it isnt hard. i've done my share of work, and i do stuff around the house.

my parents reward me now for my good grades so they know one day ill go to college and then come back and take care of them.

in my case.....a lot of ppl envy me b/c my parents bought me a brand new 30K car.they love my car, they dont hate me for having parents buy me a car....

and when i got into a wreck....

they all offered help and felt for me losing that car.

some ppl are jealous of others who have things handed to them.....so rather do it themselves.....

im not a rich brat, i feel i earned my car. if you want me to post up my high school record through 11th grade i will, lol if i can find it.

You're just as stupid on ROE. My points here aren't that I'm jealous....I could care less. I'm happy that I'm financially stable and can support myself and my son. The point here is that G-Monk acts like he's a higher power because of his system.....and then after a day or two he fawks it up because he knows little to nothing.

I have respect for anyone that works hard for what they have. Of course he won't be short on funds because dad is only a phone call away. The hardest part of that is gettin' g-monk's fingers to hit the right keys. Thank god for speed dial or even voice activated phone calls.

Actually no. I'll spoil my son because he's a baby right now, but once he gets a bit older, I'll provide him with what he NEEDS. Once he's old enough to get a job, he pays for what he wants.

It teaches self discipline, work ethic and will make him a better person. He won't be a bum who mooches off of people.

It doesn't matter if I were a millionaire,

a) my child would attend a public school

b) my child would have a job after school once they get 16

c) I would offer $2k for assistance with a vehicle, but they have to pay insurance, gas, etc.

Do you know what Warren Buffet is leaving is grandchildren? Practically nothing and he is the 3rd riched person on the planet. Like him, I believe children need to earn and struggle. Struggle separates the strong from the weak.
