Well I checked the speaker wire where it goes into the amp since I cant get the top subs out by myself (need one person to hold and one person to drill).

I checked them with a ghetto old analog meter and it showed right in between 1 and 2 ohms, and since they are dual 1.4 it shows the coils are just fine.

Jake from sundown sent me a PM telling me the amount of current that they are doing at .7 strapped. Strapping at 2.8 will do less than half.

So im guessing its a blown tinsel lead from the current. Its not the power doing it, its the current.

power is a funciton of current and voltage, so no matter what you blame it on current, voltage, or power your pretty much refering to the same thing

also we shoved 10kw into a btl and didnt have any problem with the leads failing... my guess is you have a problem in your install else where

because if your dmm is showing the coils are fine then your tinsels are fine, think about it the coil has to go through the tensle through the terminal through the wire adn too the amp

**** dude, this sucks. Wondering why the other one went as well. Fi said I blew a 12 and I wasnt even giving it's rms rating nor clipping, so makes me wonder sometimes. They are excellent at customer service though. I am sure they will take care of you being you have som much money wrapped up in that.

Did you unhook them from the amp before measuring the resistance?

I didnt disconnect from the amp because I'll most likely have to take the amp rack apart to do so.

If the subs are fine, maybe one of the amps went bad... But I doubt it since the top ones were wayyyyy cooler than the bottom ones.

The reason I ask is this... you have the amps strapped together. If you measure the resistance with everything still hooked to the amp you are getting the resistance of the total load and not each coil no matter where you put the DMM -- those terminals are parallel inside.

You need to at least unhook the speaker wires to get a good measurement.

If all the blue lights are on the amps they are all fine.
