I do remember when all this stuff was going on a few years ago, and honestly, we all make mistakes, and if he corrected the issues, then I see no issues here.. Skar has good customer service as far as im concerned, and the communication is there even after the transaction.. I wouldnt hesitate dealing directly with kevin.. As for Selling sunwown, I have no issues with that, he is a vendor, thats irrelevant...

I'm shocked that Jacob did not mind him doing this(selling SA product online), but that is between them and we have no right to worry about it. I personally would have found a better way to spend the money, perhaps more advertising or something along those lines. Again though, it is Kevin's business and we will run it as he sees fit. Not much anyone here can do about it.

I dont think Jacob really minds.. Sundown has a much larger customer base, and probably isnst worried about it. Hey, you have to make ends meet some how right? I can see how it would come off strange to some, so I cant argue there, but its his business.. If anything he is probably helping out sundown quite a bit more by doing so, while also showing good customer service, hes promoting his brand aswell.

I see nothing wrong with it. He sells his subs and he sells other brands?? Does not every other dealer do this? I am sure Jacob set the price at 185 not kevin?? So Kevin must follow same rules. He sells at price he is told to or Jacob not be happy sounds just like it should be.

****. This has gotten ugly!! I never really get involved in the politics side of the forum. So I was around for all the past situations that Kevin was in but didn't really get involved! I have no affiliation to Skar and dealt with Kevin 2 maybe 3 times. CS was top notch (even a mistake from a builder and he had no problem correcting it). So as for now in the present time he seems legit! As for the pass. If we all get judged on our past dealings, 98% of us would be considered "ppl not to trust"! We all have done things in the past that may not be honest or trustworthy! I'm a believer of 2nd chances. I respect ppl that's about their money! So I respect his hustle!! I would rather him doing what he's doing then running the streets doing illegal activities for money!

I'm not saying it was right or wrong. Just saying I would have spent the funds in better ways for my own company from an online stand point.

You can have the best product in the world, but if the owner is shady and has a history of telling lies, poor customer service, and claiming work done was his own when it wasnt it doesnt matter.

Didn't read the whole thread but I didn't have poor customer service when I bought from Skar.

When I did my package deal and I got my box, it had some problems. Sub cutouts were too small (lulz) but it was no biggie, emailed kevin about it and then just used a jig and fixed it. Later on found out the board for my port was loose. Emailed Kevin and just a minute or two later he emailed me back saying he would just ship me another box free of charge. I hadn't even brought up anything about getting another box and within a week a new box was at my door.

I don't know how he was in the past, but I can't hate on him because I like the subs and I had great customer service when I bought from them so idk.

I guess I'll throw my 2cents in here. The way I see it he f'd up back in the day but I also remember him being pretty young and basically just having deep pockets with no real business experience. With Skar Audio I think he's done a good job especially having a strategic partner in Jacob, who is well respected in the industry, and I don't think he would've helped if he didn't somewhat trust him to not run his name through the mud.

I've owned 2 Skar 15's and I thought they were pretty nice subs. So I believe they sell pretty good products although I have no personal experience with the amps and speakers. If YOU were personally screwed over than you have a right to call him out and so on, but I bet if he did legitimately screw you over he'd help make things right. IMO it sounds like it's just a bunch of people bitching for no reason. Skar Audio as a company hasn't done anything wrong to anybody and if something has gone wrong I'm sure they've done what they can to fix it.

lastly, IMO it wasn't very smart of them to sell the new sa8's like they did, if for any reason because it just looks bad. That's something he should've just sold locally instead of stepping on Sundowns toes and selling them over the net on these forums. Is it worth a 100 page thread with a ton of bashing? Not really IMO.
