and the battery cleaned up. the fuse sits between my strut tower and the battery snugly. perfect fit!

talking about how i ran it? your right, im a rookie, and have yet to put wire loom over it...which i will. that will make it look more professional. what else looks rookie? everything is hidden inside, and that was the quickest way across the motor as well as safest... i could have used black zip ties, thats bout all i could think of.

That sucks about the install man.

Thats why if I ever do take my truck to a shop, I will tell them that I want to go back there and watch them. If they say no, just pop off with "Got something to hide?" If they do such a good job as they say they do, then why wont they let you come back with your vehicle. But of course theres the safety issues or w/e.

But the installer will have safety issues if I find out he installed shit like that in my truck.

I think the lesson to be learned here can cover a couple of different things.

(1) If you pay for a job to be done, go through the job before it is done so as to know what to expect in the end. At the end, check the job from front to back and if you are unhappy with it, solve it at that time instead of months later.

(2) There are less than stellar shops out there, research the shop. If they do not make you feel comfortable, try a different shop.

(3) If you are going to do it yourself and something does happen, you have yourself to blame. Sometimes it is worth it IF you know what you are doing. Sometimes it is best to have the shop do it, provided the shop meets criteria #1 or #2.

Yeah, even when I did all my own shit when I was 16...it was a MUCH better job than that shop could've ever done.

Only thing the shop has done for me is install my alarm. I then totalled my car (deer) and I now need to install the alarm. I know I should probably make a thread about this, but is it very hard to install a basic alarm?

Srry to thread jack, but depending on the vehicle, it usually isnt hard to install an alarm as long as you know some basic electrical principles and know how to read a digital multi meter.
