Srry to thread jack, but depending on the vehicle, it usually isnt hard to install an alarm as long as you know some basic electrical principles and know how to read a digital multi meter.
Actually, it's kind of tough. I mean...you're first time...it'll take FOREVER...lol.

But as long as you have all of the correct wire codes, you should be fine. Also, your DMM will be your best friend.

x2 on that for sure, the first time I tried to do an alarm install it took me quite a long time.

 
yea for real go back and mention that if that would have melted and hit that negative that it could have started ure car on freakin fire and see if they wanna give ya a refund or handle a lawsuit lol
