Likely as long as the shop knows you're putting pressure on the supplier they may be willing to work with you to resolve the issue.

IF you talk to him again and he starts this favor crap. Do your self a favor and google some of the stuff you have bought from them before. Look at what you could have got it for and see who did who a favor.

Anytime some one goes to a local shop and pays double to triple what they can get stuff for is not getting any favors.

alot of shop in arizona havent even heard of dd/aq/tcsounds/sundown the list go's on most of them are just out for a really big profit there markup is insane

I agree, shops down here are all about Jl, alpine and frosgate.

They all over charge either by high markup value or exspensive instalation fees. I made a mistake 7 months ago because I was too busy to install my own speakers and paid $200. A month later I bought more and put in myself. Had to do some customizing but I wasnt about to pay that again, after I saw the workmanship they did, I know I failed and it was my own fault. Shops are in it to make money and if you been going there for a while and all the sudden you bring in a product from somewhere else to have installed or whatnot, they will get upset and feel betrayed because that is business they just lost and they get scared. I saw they same chit when I worked at Audio Express in Phx, AZ. That was my first job as an installer. When people came in with outside products for us to install, We went by an install chart $50 amp install, $65 deck, ect. Hell, $80 for a box... cheap compaired to the prices they wanted. Like $500 per custom box. That is the reason I built my own box. I shopped around and everyone wanted $300-$800 for a custom box. $1500 for glass. It pays to do it yourself with those prices. You dont have to worry about some azz ******** up you subs, cuz if they do, your S.O.L on the warrenty thing anyhow. I know most dont cover install error. only mechanical deffects. OP, good luck fight that battle. and stay away from that shop.

^^^^ the last 3 posts, i couldnt agree more. this shop is all about jl, fosgate, alpine, and kenwood. and outside of that, they have no clue whats out. they look at it as if they dont carry it, it cant be good. and i did them a lot of favors, especially this guy. its just dumb and im gonna do the jl thing, just to see what happens and then ill take it from there.

he WAS my boy, up until this week when he dropped from being 22 to 7

Nah, not really much more you could do I guess. I had sears damage my rims putting them on my car. Dropped a rim right in front of me, and were dented up. They wouldn't pay for anything to replace it.

I wrote a letter to the President of Sears, called their CS, went through Better business bureau, and still nothing. I mean, I watched the ****ers drop it right in front of me, and it had the yellow paint from the lift they dropped it on, on it.

Nobody should be paying for boxes unless you just want them "pretty".

Some people have more fabrication skills than others, or just prefer to build things more than tune them. Nothing wrong with that.

theres times where you could spend more on an instal than what u spent on ur gear.

I basically stopped reading at that point. If you want a quality installation, you have to pay for it. I'm not justifying high prices for the sake of high prices alone, but talent doesn't come free.

cause the douchebags they hire to work there get paid like $6 an hour. Most of them are young and think they are badass 'technicians'.

alright well more has happened with this but i just got off banning and wanted to wait.

so my friend went in there last monday to pick up some soeaker wire while i was at school he pretended he didnt know anything happened and tried to get his side. shane told my friend, cody, that i got mad at him cuz he didnt have a installers to the box. he said he never even had them start it. he also mentioned hooking my sub up. he claimed that he didnt know it was even touched but that either way i got about that for no reason because when u drop a sub off there, they can do what they want with it. cody laughed and told him thats bullshit, he stood right there when i dropped it off and told him not to do it and that he can expect us not to be back.

and the jl thing worked. i emailed the head of sales and heard back from him right away. he said that although they arent in charge of weebee, they will investiagate it and that it shouldve never happened. also he said, "were gonna look for another local shop to sell jl products if thats how there gonna act"

thats what im hopin happens. its messed up to say cuz that will really hurt them, but im not the first one to say anything about stuff like this happening and something has to be done cuz the owner could care a less. hes made of money now so its whatever to him
