Little Problem

Didn't know what section to post this in so i'll just post it here. About a week or two ago i installed my Kenwood x-789 HU and everything was all fine. Today though i've been noticing a problem on the right side of my speakers. No amp, just using the HU to power them 6.5s and tweets. But anyways the problem is that the left side would come on and off. It'll play for like 2 seconds and then it stops playing. You can however hear the music a little bit through the tweeters but its all distorted. At first i thought it had blowed but then when it starts to play, it sounds just as it did before all this started happening. It does this randomly.

Hrm, might be the tinsel leads. I had that happen with an old Kicker comp. tinsels were wearing out/breaking and they would lose connection sometime. That or a short in the wire somewhere. I'd say take the speaker out and examine it. Also could get a DMM and check the continuity of the speaker wires. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok, but i just find it weird that the tinsel would snap even though the 6.5's barely move because i have them playing next to no midbass. Im thinking that its a short somewhere to.

Eh, just throwing it out there b/c I had that problem before. Im really guessing a short though.

ohms maybe?
nahh about 100% sure its not the load. The radio put out 22wrms @ 4 ohm and i have 8 ohm speakers inside(GM sucks)

but yea younggun i have had that happen before about 6 times when i was using kicker cvr's. At first i thought i was blowing subs but it was just the leads.
