Little budget system for my girls car

Since my project is on hold, i figured i would throw a little budget system together for my girlfriends new (to her) jetta this weekend. I built the box in about an hour, including cutting the wood with a circular saw and assembling, so its not the prettiest thing i've ever created, but it will get the job done in her car. I figured a few of you on here might like a look at a budget built that should pound pretty nicely.

(2) 10" Kenwood KFC 3011's ($60 total)

-Hifonics ZXI6006 (had) pushes 600RMS @ 4ohms. Ill be running at two, so we'll see what happens. I may have to buy a different amp.

-4awg wiring kit from knukonceptz ($26)

-Pioneer DEH P3000IB ($90)

-stock speakers (they are pretty **** nice though, i was surprised)

total spent was right around $175

Box is 2 cubic feet @ 35hz w/ 32" of port area. She wanted to keep most of her trunk, so these will fire into her rear seats, and i'll build a beauty panel to attach to the back of the box to seal it up, and make the trunk look like a regular (but smaller) trunk.

The HU and wiring will be put in on thursday or friday of this week, then i'll post more pics/maybe vids.

When i do budget systems in friends vehicles, i usually go the kicker CVRs +kenwood amp route, so im fairly excited to see how these compare (mainly to my lil sis's CVR 8's on 500RMS in an escort)

gah, i have those subs, but mine are 12"s they are get loud (SPL) but warning, dont drop anything on them, that plastic breaks so easily, i did that with my phone on accident lol.
thanks for the info.

They will not be visible, unless the rear seats are folded down. So, chances are they will never see physical harm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i have teh 12s. great subs. i hit 139dbs. nothing big but pretty good for a budget system.

ones cracked as well due to the amp hittin it when i was puttin it in. ****

you have to give your GF a system in order to get some pussy?,..... LOL

btw, you **** at painting man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

i always wondered why ppl mount amps to the box. it just makes it an easy steal for those punk theives. plus it's usually a longer run for ground.
for the second time, everything will be hidden. Plus, with what im trying to achieve, its the best place for it.

After the beauty panel goes on, the only way to get the stuff out will be to break the box.

I couldn't agree more. They are some of the best bang for your buck subs out there

Once again, for the third time

everything

will

be

hidden

. Ide rather have crappy paint than plain wood tho. Like i said, i threw this together in an hour.

If i knew this was going to be shown off all the time, i would have spent more than an hour and would have done stuff such as sanding lol.

doesn't the jetta have a 3-way system up front.. so why would you get a new headunit with 4 channels?

i agree my neighbor has one and it sounds pretty good

Thats what i thought as well, but hers does not //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Its got components in the front and rear doors, but thats it. Its a 99.5 model if that makes any difference.
