Line out Converter Questing

Hi I ran a Scouche Line-out Converter in my mustang GT to a Lightning Audio 450 Watt Amplifier and a 1100 watt Sony Xplod 10" subwoofer. The sub is hitting, but I'm having a slight problem whenever I turn off my music. For some reason, the sub will keep hitting even after the radio is cut off. This happens whenever I turn up the converter to where the sub kicks a bit. Currently I have the amplifier set to 400/400 crossover and 400/400 gain. I have messed around with the levels of both the x-over and the gain, but the problem still persists. Does anyone have any idea of what my problem might be, and maybe even a solution. All I want is to get the subwoofer hitting nice and hard, but not have the noise issue at the same time. Oh, and I also messed with the levels of the converter as well, but the problem only goes away whenever I turn the levels way down, almost to where the sub doesn't hit hardly at all.
