0AWG in to 8AWG out bad?

So lets say I had a 0awg power wire to a 4awg dis block ( one 0awg in two 4awg out) Since I downgraded amps my new amps don't take 4awg so would it be bad if I just used 8awg in the 4awg spots on the dist block? What is the worst thing that can happen?

I forgot to add.. should I downgrade my fuses also? I have two 150A (it was running a 1100w amp and a 800w amp), but now I'm going to be running a 800w amp and a 400w amp.

you should always fuse according to the wire size....the fuses on the wire is there to protect your wire from overloading. the amp has fuses that will protect it.

Just downgrade to the appropriate amperage fuse. For 8awg.. use 80a MAX.

Why cant you just use the 4ga wire? And trim it to 8ga size at the terminal. is it set screw or a phillips type?

set screws.. one more problem. One of my amps takes 2 8awg power wires and 2 8awg ground wires. So would it be a problem if i shoved 2 8awg wires into one 4awg opening on my dist block?

That would be just fine.

It's fine as long as it doesn't draw more amps than the 8awg can handle.
