Line driver trouble

WEll today i was bored at work so i built a line driver for my hifonics 1800D, i have a four channel memphis and im usin the rear channels as the line driver problem is the amp will go into protect mode if theres some extreme bass, the gains on the amp are down and the gain on the four channel is hardly up, what could be the problem here?
