Line driver opinions

I have a HU that claims pre amp voltage is 2Vrms to sub and front/rear outputs.

I have a AB 4480.1, which accepts up to 6V (well, thats what sonic website says.. IMO, AB website seem to have forgotten to info/specs on this amp as the page is bare, only pics wtf AB!)

I spent a few min on google looking it up, and then it hit me..

Makes the amp work less, therefore longer life. "should help" avoid clipping, and may sound louder.

Am i on the right track here?]

I dont wanna spend a fortune, but dont want cheap either.

Found a couple on sonic for around $60..

Opinions??

It won't do anything. Only time they help is if you have many amps running off one preout. 2v is plenty.

Agreed. Line drivers aren't needed unless you're splitting the **** out of the signal, and they can cause more problems than they fix.
