I am going to be doing an install using a pair of line actuators. I have never used these before, so I am not to familiar with them.

Is there anything I should know or any hints you guys can give me before starting my project?

And what else should I know before going to buy them?

Do you mean linear actuators? What are you using it for exactly?

Actuators are usually just two wires, which pushes and pulls in a linear motion. One wire signals the pull and other pushes. All you need is a 12 volt pulse for them.

They are expensive as hell, I wouldnt tackle them unless you know what you are doing, you should know how much throw you need before you order them, save alot of money, they are best at rotating things about an axis and not just a linear movement, chances are if you are just going to have your rack slide out, there are less expensive options, like a simple 12v motor, relays, and some gears.

How would I use the motors and gears??

Im really interested....
