Limitations on a BOSCH Relay...am I overloading?

This is probably a REALLY dumb question, but nonetheless...

I am trying to turn on the following...

- Amp

- LCD

- DVD Player

- Sirius Aux Unit

...using a single Bosch relay. Will I be able to get enough power to turn them all on, or do I need another relay? I couldn't seem to find what the amp draw was on any of the devices...

You're using the relay to switch turn-on or accessory power on all of them, right? I doubt you're anywhere close to the current limit of the relay. A Bosch relay can handle at least 20 amps on a continuous basis, and I'd be willing to bet you're under 5 amps.

Where is the 87 terminal on your relay connected (assuming 30 is the output to your equipment)? That current capacity on that power source may be lower than the relay itself. If you're concerned about the relay, though, just put a 20-amp fuse on the wire connected to 87.

Bosch relays are rated for 30 amps on the N/O terminal and 20 amps on the N/C. They rate it this way because many applications only have the N/O terminal in use for a short time. For a continuous current flow, 20 amps is the safer number to go by.
