lights STILL dimming

Just a suggestion, before you spend money on a new alt for a 1200 watt amp, I would add another ground wire (sometimes this can make all the difference)preferably a frame ground. Move up to 0 guage or add another run of 4. Even if you have 60 amp alt it should support the amp you are using. Use the process of elimination before spending money on something you may not need.

i love how people are giving advice without knowing the setup. has 99durango told us under what conditions the lights dim? is it while idling around at 5 mph? standing still? 60 mph? all conditions? none of these? any other accessories running? has he found a way to stop the dimming? turning other accessories on / off? i mean, i love these diagnoses and recommendations based on incomplete information. a capacitor will normally prevent dimming, but it depends on the conditions as well as the type of cap and its specs. without this, all this talk is totally useless. before spending ANY money or doing ANYTHING, shouldn't we get a better picture of the problem?
