Why would I need a bigger alt? I think ~145 amps is well more than enough for my setup. And why should I go with a pair of AGM batts when I planned on getting a deep cycle XS batt under the hood? >.>


I wish my little po-dunk town had some more bass heads. There's no one with a scope or anything within miles of me. I wonder if anyone would be able to test my amp at the SPL event in the next couple weeks lol.

I'm not sure what part of Texas you live in but I have a O-scope you could use. I live close to Texarkana

Oh well. I'm definitely not willing to chunk out cash for another alt. I just recently got this one, and it was a HUGE pain in the *** putting in my car. Had to take apart my engine manifold and ac compressor just to get to my alt. Was ridiculous. I'm sure a nice battery and a run of 0 will do great with a batt charge every month or so. It's just a daily driver to begin with. I'm not heavy into SPL yet.

And I plan on just upgrading to that XS batt I listed in the first post. I've heard great things from them, and I honestly don't really want two car batteries in my car.

Thank ye'! I'm looking forward to my first SPL event and can't wait to see what numbers I hit. I'm shooting for at least 145. Hopefully that's not too much of a stretch lol... I have a real small cabin so it can hold a bit of pressure.

1200 rms will draw 120 amps of current, your vehicle is using more than 25 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif More reserve power would serve you well, you are more than likely going to need to charge them every so often though if you run it hard a lot...

Its going to draw 120a on a constant tone....musically will average 1/2-3/4 of that and knu ofc is rated 375a@20' ....but i do agree with everything you said.... Those cx series dont like 1 ohm for a long time

Yessir, you are correct. Even at half to 3/4 draw he will more than likely have headlight dimming though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I doubt he will at cruising rpm after his upgrades, but it will still more than likely be apparent @ idle / low rpm... I'm a perfectionist so things like this can drive me nuts sometimes, but I've made peace with it... No, not sure... I missed the d@mn pre-order (kicks self in the @ss) As soon as I can order one I'm going to... I've been anxiously waiting for the day I can get the ball rolling for this as my enclosure was built for the X, and NOT the SA I run in there which does surprisingly well though lol

no shyt lol that *****...with all the hype with your box i was sure you ordered one....if thats the case jump up to the zv4...they are made inhouse so you could probably get one sooner
