Installation Question for Factory Bose System and After Market HU

Hey everybody!

Sorry for being a pest, but I am just about ready to pull my hair out!

I have a 1995 camaro that has the factory bose system in it. I have googled until I just can't google anymore. And since no one where I live seems to know how to fix my problem, and the audio store wants an arm and a leg. I thought I might ask y'all! =)

I have the factory sub in the back, two rear and two side speakers and original delco/bose head unit. I have tried FOUR different decks all with the same response. All with the harnesses. I can connect my aftermarket deck, everything works great for about five minutes. Sometimes shorter. Full power...all functions....full sound. Then.......I lose all sound. Everything else works. Power is still on....all functions work but no sound. And this is with EVERY deck I have installed.

I am about ready to give up. I am doing this all myself. No help....just me. I eventually want to replace the entire system but until then........

Anyhow......thoughts anyone? Lol

That Bose system might have a factory amp. You might have to bypass it. Are you blowing fuses?

Honestly, I am not sure if there is a factory amp or not. I'm not sure where it would be located either.

Blown fuses? Not yet.

If I reinstall the factory unit system works fine.

It's a factory amp. The deck is also amplified and you can't run the two amps together unless done they the rcas The amp is either in the pass side kick panel or on one side in the reset quarters you need to bypass it completely. Which means you'll need speaker wire 4 runs from the deck to where the amp is

Mylows that is probably what I am gonna do. Just run new wire bigger gauge and just bypass it then. Sound better with a better wire anyhow.
