lighting/electical problem

I had a cap blow up and in turn had to replace my 2 red tops. my problem is my brake lights , rear parking lights, back up lights don't work and my dash lights up sometimes then goes of then comes back on again. I checked all fuses and bulbs and I check batterey posts. can anyone tell me my problem? its a 96 chevy caprice.

Re check all the fuses again take off that cap do the BIG 3 if you don't know what that is look into it on the sticky here in the electrical section your in here now. Check the voltage of your batteries with a DMM *digital multi meter*

cap blew up and is in the trash. did big 3 when I replaced the batts which are brand new and never been driven or played music on so I don't know what to do. I figure I either got a bad relay or a bad wire somewhere. thanks for the reply
