Lifting car?

Down here I see a lot of CARS lifted with 24" or 26" rims... I always wondered how it was done, I've never dealt with lifting or lowering my car.

I have 18's on my car, because it was the only logical choice... it was what I could afford and it fit without modification. Now I'm interested in putting 22's on my car. I found these rims at a local wheel store and they're so perfect for my car, but I want to see what I'll have to do in order to make the room for them.

I have a 1996 Chrysler LHS. The wheel shop said just get the big rims with REALLY small tires, but that's not logical, as soon as I hit a pothole I'll be screwed.

Thanks for the help!

I just can't justify spending the money on rims that would just be 2 inches bigger. I doubt I would even notice the difference. I like getting looks, my spinners do that for me now... but I'm tired of the spinners, haha. 20's would be like baller on a budget here in South Florida... no one would take a look at my car.

I swear if you lift your car and put some massive rims on it. I will personally pay you a visit and beat some sense into you. Do like the above said and put some 20's on it and a nice low profile tire. Or you could lower your car on your rims you have now and take off the spinners and fill the wheel well gap.

my opinion if the car isnt rwd body on frame like a caprice/impala, crown vic/grand marquis don't bother lifting just get 20's. i've seen a eastcoast riders dvd with a newer model impala (the fake skyline looking, should be called lumina, impala) that was lifted probally with air ride to fit 22's and i've seen a newer model monte carlo on 22's before but i personally wouldn't do it. if i were you and wanted to roll 22's that bad i would just sell the LHS and buy a bubble or if u want to make payments get a 300C i also remember seeing the 300m in car audio mag on 22's which should be really similar suspension ect wise to ur car.

20's would stand out alot more then 18's, 2'' makes a big difference when it comes to wheels, 20's arent called dubs for nothing. Its best leaving the big wheels to the old school chevy's and SUV's. I bet you can cop a clean caprice or impala for a decnet price where your at.

sadly, in south florida he would be "cool" for doing that. even where im from "certain" people love it. certain meaning black lol.

kenny, i will personally come kill u if u LIFT your car. throw on some 20's, they will fit. we threw some on a sebring and they look dope.

i have 255/35/20 on my marquis and have yet to bust a rim...i've had them on for 2years and the worst thing that has happened is that the very outer lip has bent acouple times, though never bad enough to leak air...all ya gotta do is get a wooden mallet and a peice of wood and take acouple wacks to realign it

...

if you dont get 20's take the spinners off n lower it...02

They would look at your car. Tasteful is the key.

Not your car. Do 20"s and a drop to fill the gap, at most. If you want to lift, with big wheels, you either need a donk, or a caprice, town car, roadmaster. Something along those lines.
