Lexus made my pants fit tighter...

Id still take a nice chevy over any of those cars. One thats built to the sky ofcourse, old cars are nice because theyre practically bare bones and you can customize them anyway you want and end up with your perfect car IMO. Besides, maybe a chevelle for example wont handle the greatest, but i wouldnt be racing around corners at 150mph either. I dont see the point in that unless youre racing at nurburgring or some shit.

A built up American muscle car that can just go fast in a straight line vs. an exotic car that can go as fast in a straight line and just as fast through the backroads. If you're talking collectible cars, like a '70 Cuda or a Yenko Camaro, then I can easily see that. Since we're not talking about collectible versions...yep, you're out of your mind.

Not a lot of companies can say their first venture just made a 7:24 lap record at the Nürburgring. Although, I will be waiting for the official call on that one.

Comparing to the 2010 911 Turbo, which was 7:39, and the 2009 GT-R which lapped in 7:38... Even the Spec-V has only done a 7:25 to date.
where the hell did you get ur numbers?

Top gear's lap times clearly show the GTR being faster than a carrera GT, GT3, 911 carrera, etc...

The 911 Turbo has the lowest lap times amongst the Porche's so those times are clearly wrong. Hell even the Evo X is faster on track than a 911 turbo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

If you don't believe me, look at it yourself

I have nothing against the GTR and agree that it's the best bang for your buck. Anyone can mod and make it faster then the LF-A. If i had a choice i would get an e46 with a HPF Stage 4 kit on it. But if your comparing stock vs stock, I would say LF-A. In my opinion i would love to see an LFA vs the GT2. For the price range i think around $200-250 is about right, but hey to make a lexus as light as possible using a v10 ain't cheap.

No, because if you put enough money into anything, then you can be faster. Sitting still, you can't be faster than a true supercar. Sitting in a parking lot, you're nowhere near a supercar's aura. Kids don't come out of schools to see your turbo civic when your neighbor's Pagani drives up at the same time. Supercars aren't just about performance, even though they will beat 98% of everything on the road. Even then, you take your 600hp Evo out to a track, and sure, it can probably hang...for a good amount of time. The supercar will last for a lifetime, and more importantly, when you start adding insane boost on a small motor, you have nowhere near the real world power as an Italian V12 or German V8.
like i said when i mentioned the EVO i was strictly going from a bang for your buck aspect, cuz thats what they were talking about at the time.

and just to think this will beat it from 0-100 and back to 0.......0-60 sub 2.8 0-100 6.5

and its under 70,000usd

and thats the 300hp model... they just released a 500hp model

Honestly the LF-A is a joke, for the price they are asking no sane person will buy one, it's just not worth it. I like the car. I think it looks good, it has the right amount of power for a RWD car, it's light and I am sure it handles like a dream, but the point of the car isn't to win races, or sell well. It's only point is to separate the Lexus brand name further from Toyota. Lexus borrows almost all of it's technology (engines, chassis, suspension) from Toyota that it has become hard to defend the price of a new Lexus. This car is ONLY about e-peen, nothing else.

Now when we are talking about fun vs price (not performance vs price) I am waiting for the FT-86 (toyobaru) concept to enter production. It is way past the concept phase, and Toyota has said that it is getting fast tracked to production with a price around 25k.

I mean really how much fun are you going to have in an LF-A, or even a Zonda for that matter (one of my favorite cars), most people would be seriously upset to crash a Zonda, but sub 30K car, who cares? Just buy another one. I think that the FT-86's only real competition as far as fun for $ goes are S2000's, maybe Lancer Evolution X's.
