A couple months ago, our Nextel plan ran out and we were going to switch carriers, or upgrade and sign another 2 year contract. Well, my dad didnt; like the prices that Nextel offered, but called to see what kind of deal he could get. The guy that he talked to pretty much hooked us up, like a 30% discount on all of our plans (4 phones), and this many extra minuted free, etc. My dad got the whole conversation with the Nextel guy on tape. Well, when the bill finally arrived for the first month, some of the discounts wernt taked off. My dad called and got it somewhat straightened out. The next bill came and the discounts still wernt taken off. My dad called today and talked to some kind of Nextel accountant, which pretty much said that Nextel was not going to honor the plan he agreed to and was only going to give us 15% off, which is adding another $100 to our bill every month. What really confused my dad was that the guy said the tape would not hold up in court. Is that true or is that just a scare tactic? He has the guy (with his company number, name, etc.) on tape saying he will get this, and this, and this taken off, and this discount as well added on. Is the Nextel guy legit?
