I forgot to add in the PM, that no they do not need a reason to fire you. But since you have a good reason to leave (your life was threatened) You may apply for benefits. But that right there is a legal battle, and still need the police report.

I've had unemployment compensation before, 60% of my pay isn't exactly going to cut it, and there aren't too many jobs around here that pay what I get now. This is happening at a bad time too, I just finished the requirements for my AA degree, supposed to be a happy week. hopefully it will all work out and I won't need to bother with anything.

Hope everything works out for you then. Get your side of the story on paper first though, before they have a chance to say that "he said he was going to kick ____'s ***" that would mean they fired you for misconduct, and you would lose all chances of benefits and legal action you could take. 60%? and congratulations on finishing AA, may be the wrong thread to say that in.

I contacted the police today, and had a talk with the owner and the officer. The officer seemed to believe the other guy, even though he hasn't even talked to him yet. The officer kept insisting that the other employee and myself were against the supervisor, and making him feel threatened. The officer kept asking if I needed to talk to him alone so I don't say something in front of the owner, and I looked him in his eye and told him, I said nothing to make this individual feel threatened, if I'm lying, you can put me in jail. I told him the entire story, yet it seemed like he already had his mind made up. He will be talking to the supervisor tomorrow morning, so I'll let you all know how it goes. I feel better now that I talked about it and made a complaint. At least it is on record.

Well, just an update. I no longer have a job, I was fired for threatening a supervisor. Something that I never even did. I feel really shitty right now. I think the worst feeling in the world is when you tell the truth, and nobody believes you. I could **** it up if I did something to deserve to be fired, but I handled the situation properly in my opinion. Hopefully the light is brighter at the other side of tunnel.
