well yesterday i was finally taught how to drive a stick...

im 21 years old and in college...and had only tried once before...

the car i learned on was a volkswagon jetta TDI i believe, its diesel and seemed to be an easy car to learn on....after like 10 minutes in a parking lot i drove like 10 miles to the mall and only stalled it once in the mall parking lot....

seems kinda stupid and im sure people will have negative things to say but i really enjoyed it, it makes driving seem like more fun versus being a task....this will also effect the choice i car i purchase coming up in september....

anyone else learn recently or not know how to and looking to learn?

I used to have a Mustang with a manual gearbox. Its fun at first but then after a while you dont even think about it.

Not thinking about it = Not fun anymore.

It really doesnt matter to me honestly. Id take a car with either.

yeah...its weird id say out of my friends from home...and now my friends here at college....if i took a group of 30 or so of them....maybe 2 tops know how to drive a stick...and thats pushing it...i only know 1 for sure

congrats. i was taught stick before i had a license. love the country. but its handy to know even though i have an auto. just the other day my friend wasnt feeling so good so i got to drive his new 08 fit because nobody knew how to drive stick but me.

hey learning something new is always good im planing on learning a little more soon as i want to change my trany to a manual 3 speed but idk it seems like fun for racing but i smoke while i drive so i think it might just seem like a burden to get a stick idk yet thought but congrats on learnin thats pretty goor 10 mins and only stalled once good job

lol out of my 4 good friends only one of us doesn't know how to drive stick, and out of the 4 of us who do, I'm the worst, but they never let me drive there cars and the only chance i get to practice is when my uncle is in town, which is like never... so enjoy it while you've got the chance, and do your best to buy a stick whenever you make your next purchase... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Ugh i hate my parents
