there should be a couple of publix opening up around here since they bought out albertsons, but they will be hiring the albertsons people first, remember that. I stocked at food world for a while and loved it, didn't really have to deal with anyoneWell once they decide to shoot obama.. i'll be back on my feet.. but until then :/ but yeah i'll def try Publix too
In late '06 I was a welding inspector at Citgo refinery in lake Charles. Within a 6 month period, the Philipino welders took over 80% of the welding ositions out there. Little bastards can weld, too.Ahh, I see.
working your *** off and killing yourself to finish on time is a diferent thing, we didnt have enough time to finish, it was only 8 of use for the whole store, the most workers we had was 10, each time they would hire someone they would quit.I did it at Home Depot. Lowes isnt the only company thats like that.
Compensate for what they give you, and work your *** off a little more than you would have to...Big deal...
Didn't think it would ever happen to me even how bad things are... but still.. company i *worked* for.. had like 18 brand new trucks and plenty of jobs(i thought).. but to find out the boss comes to me and tells me they havnt been able to bid one any jobs that the jobs they been doing they had to do for half price because how bad things have gotten.. so he told me he was pissed because he has to lay off 5 guys.. which is about 3 trucks... and they have to start from the bottom... meaning the people that have been there long doesn't get layed off.. i was the last one hired almost a year ago so they had to let me go.. they can't afford to have 3-5 trucks going and not bidding jobs.. but he told me he had my number and would call me in acouple months... because he said he loved my work and really hated he had to even do this...
I just don't know what im gonna do now.. like a bad dream..
its the economy i think i also no how to do metal work..bend, cut, ish like that...run machines for about 5yrs...thats all i know is metal...but it will change i hope for the better..this world is fvckin crazy right nowCan't find a job because of the economy or because it's all being outsourced? I talked to a few people in the welding business, and it didn't seem like something that would be easily sent overseas. I was trying to think long term. It will take him a while to get certification, and the economy can't be in a recession forever.
