i'm a certified MIG welder and cant find a job here...as for unemployment i got it and they never check to see if you go to look for jobs or not...they just gave me a debit card and every week they put money on it..thats it that simple...i have to call every week to the esc place and talk to a recording ..it asks ?'s like were you avalible for work this week and ish like that... answer with yes or no..mabe 10 ?'s, real easy to do...you should try it if you havent yet..alteast you'll get some $..hope i helped ya.G/L with it...Sorry about that ish

Sad, but this was my first thought as well.

In FL you log into the website every 2 weeks and answer 4 questions then wait for your direct deposit or check.
Even if you had to go job to job, you'd be retarded not to grab money you are entitled to while looking for work.

You will max out at $275/wk though. FL unemployment sucks.

So you call in once a week and answer 4 questions on a website every 2 weeks.. also gotta go job to job? its not that i dont wanna go out and look for a job.. its just i already have a career.. and ill just be waiting for the company to hire again..

All they do is ask if you did. It's one of the questions. It's all done online in 5 minutes.

Every 2 weeks for 5 minutes won't break your arm.

You're the kind of person that gives anyone on welfare/unemployment a bad name.
Thanks for taking advantage of the system.

First of all, You dont know what my situation was.

The company I worked for closed, so I was owed 16 weeks from them. Also when a company closes in MA, you are entitled to collect.

Lastly I worked for my families company while I looked for a new job, which i still have 3 years later.

Talking advantage is not working or looking for a job. I did niether of those.

Also I have responabilites that I need to keep, So if that means I work under the table while I can to get extra cash while still looking, then i guess that is wrong, but if you knew anything about unemployment, you are allowed to make a certain amount with out effecting your benifits, or they will reduce it depending on what you earn.

And like i stated, it was nice while it lasted. Unemployment isnt forever.. So its nice to put some aside incase things dont work out.

And ppl on welfare are scum, imo.

Unemployment is different. Its a limited resource.

it does when there trying to make you do work that 3 people are supose to do, i use to stock electrical, hardware, and garden, they didnt whant to hire people.

Can't find a job because of the economy or because it's all being outsourced? I talked to a few people in the welding business, and it didn't seem like something that would be easily sent overseas. I was trying to think long term. It will take him a while to get certification, and the economy can't be in a recession forever.

I was trying to think long term. It will take him a while to get certification, and the economy can't be in a recession forever.

Phillipino welders are imigrating here in droves and underbidding everywhere.

I did it at Home Depot. Lowes isnt the only company thats like that.

Compensate for what they give you, and work your *** off a little more than you would have to...Big deal...
