Hello everyone and thanks in advance. I'm at a last resort here. I'm looking to find a subwoofer to match my amp. The watt/ohm stuff is a little confusing so I'm having trouble and no one will give me a straight up answer on what to look up and buy. I'm not looking to buy the top of line sub. I may even look locally. Don't want to spend much on one sub. I just want one 12', for now. My amp is 1 ohm stable, monoblock, class d. 1 ohm @ 1200 watts RMS, 2 @ 900, & 4 @ 600. I'm having troble finding subs that match up to these numbers. Is it okay if the number are off a little or what?

the ohm load is determined by the subwoofer. a D2 subwoofer can be wired to 1ohm and 4 ohms, a D4 subwoofer can be wired to 2 ohms and 8ohms.

whats your budget for your subwoofer? Also will you be getting a custom box for it or a prefab? the enclosure is the most crucial aspect here to get the subwoofer to sound right.

It is usually best to get a subwoofer a little under your amps power becasue you can always turn your gain down but you cant turn it up to produce more power than the amp should. So headroom is good but there is also no problem underpowering a sub as long as you are doing it right

Okay I think I've found the one. Before you look at the sub please be optimistic as my budget is not as flexible as everyone elses.

I've read the reviews. It seems legit. It needs 500 rms. Would it be safe to hook this up to my amp if I don't turn the levels up all the way? I'm not looking to shake the block, just add some bass to my sad, bassless Integra.

reviews are lies, go by real world word to mouth. kicker cvrs shatter windshields according to reviews.

you didnt give me a budget, but honestly if thats your budget $50 for a sub im assuming your getting a ore fab box for like $20 correct?

but yes that sub will be fine with your amp if your gain is completely down to its lowest position becasue anything more will blow it. you know something is junk when it says "MAX WATTS" that doesnt exist its complete BS.

I really don't wanna spend more than say 100. Maybe a little more i don't know. I still gotta get a box, wires, and I'm probably gonna hook it up myself because prices in my city are crazy.

this is an expensive hobby to have a nice sound, not loud, nice. you need to spend atleast $400 and thats as basic as it gets. if you cant stomach that then go to walmart buy a dual sub in the box already and call it a day. i dont mean to sound like a dick but its the truth everyone was like that at first. i didnt want to spend $80 on an amp for my truck 2 years ago and now im looking to spend $600 on an amp that does 600w. You get what you pay for in this industry.

soes your car have an aftermarket deck or your going to use a line out converter?
