You can get a burmese python to be ~15 feet in 2 years if you power feed it.

power feeding will shorten its life by alot and can lead to alot of health problems, retic's usually get bigger faster. and this is the fault of the owner not the snake i have many reptiles and i plan on buying an anaconda from an expo in PA in august and i doubt it will ever get out

not starting to they always have been getting 12+ feet. none of those snakes are native to the united states anyway.

doubtful. more like 5-7 years. not bad considering they live to be 20-25 years old.

Regardless if they are native or not, their populations are growing.

Snake was killed. How can you even have a snake like that when you have a 2 yr old. Parents should be killed aswell.

its entirely the parents fault. If I ever have kids they sure as **** will never be anywhere near an animal like that unsupervised. IMO the parents should be charged with murder. A snake of that size does not escape except in a severe case of negligence.

That snake isn't big enough to. The human shoulders make it very difficult for a snake to consume a person. That snake probably got out because it was hungry though, it's way too skinny for it's length.

I heard there is going to be a lot of this stuff happening a lot more in Florida, because the snakes are starting to get big down there... All the Burmese pythons, Anacondas, Reticulated pythons, etc, etc, are starting to get like 15+ feet long.

My brother is a big snake person. He told me they actually have bounties out for some snakes down there? Thats crazy.

And something about the snakes being competitors with the Florida panther (as far as prey goes) and some are worried it may have a negative impact on the already rare panthers.

And Michael Vick gets prison for dogfighting, yet these owners aren't charged for viciously stabbing this snake?

That death was totally preventable and should not have happened.
