Lanzar opti not outputting power.

how exactly are u setting your gains? because.....each amp prolly doesnt have the same deal with it. ou may be at like 60hz on the amp knob, and different on the other, changing the whole deal. and what are you playing to set your gains?

It's at ~1/3, which is where the DMM said 52.9volts ( sqrt(4*700)) I had the bass knob plugged in and at full. If I unplug the bass knob, it virtually turns itself off.
what tone did you set the gains at??

I dont care what anyone on here says you have the gains set wrong..........

Reset the gains.

Ive never ever ran a amp with the gains at 1/3.Notice the other amp is at full gain and this one is at 1/3????Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Problem solved.

How would I go about doing that? I had the DMM reading 52.9

I was using a 0db test tone, i believe 45hz; It was like 2 minutes long, so it was constant.

Should be done at 60 hz I believe.

But there must be a boost gain involved or something......

Do tones at more then one tone and check volts.......20/30/40/50/60.........

I never do tones or dmm I go by ear.

Whats the volts coming out of the other amp by the way?

I set the gains with the bass knob at full, and adjusted the gain on the amp. The DMM said it was at 52.9v I don't see how it overrides it if I can still adjust the gain on the amp for the correct voltage reading on the terminals
That's what I don't understand. 700w @ 4 ohms the output voltage in AC should read 52.9v. That's what I set it to, yet It wont move the sub at all.

On my RF amp (200 watt), I can bounce quarters off my roof @ 20hz
I used an oscope, trust me. the knob overrides the amps gains.
You should try setting your gains with reduced tones i.e. -10dB tones. Not 0dB since music isn't constant.

exactly

umm............ 52.3v shouldn't it be 28.x volts? ( sqrt(4*200)) ??

My stock alternator is a 117amp.

Edit: I'm going to go out and hook up the lanzar again. Set the gain by ear, and try without the remote knob. will let you know in a few.

In what order are you supposed to hook up the B+ and ground? I have always hooked up the B+ first, then the ground. My system was all off, car shut off. I put the B+ on, then when I went to hook up the ground wire, it sparked.

WTF? sounds to me like an internal short...
