Lanzar amps and why they ****.

I think their refurbs ****...for the opti 2000d atleast. I as well as 3 people I know got DOA or quick failing refurb amps.

I have a opti200.2 that was purchased new. Its running great and sounds great.

There's nothing that makes them inherently bad. Most of their lineup outputs rated power or very close thereto, and do it with low distortion and reliably. Yes, they are designed to be less expensive, and because of that they will have higher failure rates compared to some of the high brands. But they don't fail anymore often than other products in their relative price range......which is to say not extremely often.

And they are not owned by Pyramid, they are owned by Sound Around.

But then again.....a lot of people like to bash products they know nothing about or have never used..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

only reason i dont like them and this may have changed is when we tries selling them and had a number of bad ones (few years back) getting them warranties was hell took forever usually directly through them... and at that time they were changing from "old" lanzar to new lanzar and this may have been the cause i havent sold them in at least over 3 years so the new stuff may be decent but i know the early "new" stuff was junk we had way to many going bad...

Back in the days my friends had a few of those amps (old school) and they were ok for the money but they were not as reliable as Orion, fosgate and other well know brands.

The reason why i don’t like them is because they started showing up in flea market sales or swamp meet.

Another reason why i don’t like them is because i saw my friends go through them like underwear (due to failure, overheating and sound quality).

Cheap? yes

Good quality? mmmmmmm......that's up to discussion.

I was tossing a 2ohm bridged load to my older (but Sound Around era) Lanzar Vibe 4-channel.

Went into protection after 20 seconds like it should, and never let out the magic smoke. Had like that for a couple weeks while I was awaiting my new amp too. Worked like a charm afterwards aswell.

Pretty solid IME.

i run a 1ohm load on my opti 200.2... put's out over 1kw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif solid amps
