Your comparing apples and oranges. You could get a pair of 12" type r's for 200$ but l7's will cost you quite a bit more if i remember right. the L7's would be better for spl prolly but here they have bad sq. Personally i love the type r's but i dont think you can compare them to an l7 at all. for a type r type budget also look into RF hx2, PG TI, and prolly some others like adire shiva, ED, RE and the likes.

If it were me i would go with the type rs. I love their look and they have great sq imo. I wasnt real impressed with the l7s when I heard them they didnt get as loud as i expected and they didnt have good sq at all.....coulda been the install though

Well it depends what youre looking for sq or spl. I've owned both of these subs and the L7 beats the shit outta the type r in spl but what the type r lacked in spl it made up for in sq
