kx 1200.1 power wire..

There will always be more of a drop in 4 gauge then 1/0, it's basic electrical theory.
i agree but it will be such a slight amount of drop that it really won't have much effect on anything. 1200w @ 13.8v is roughly 85A. OFC 4g is rated at being around 140-150A. it's not like hes pushing the wire to its capacity limits, so he really shouldnt be experiencing any noticeable drop

I never said it would be a big drop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I have a monte carlo.. all i really need is power wire and ground wire.

Random question.. do people ever run 2 different sizes of ground wire and power wire?

If that JL kit with the 2ga is any good ill buy that kit.. Basically i want to know if its worth it to get 1/0 vs 4ga?

Not a good idea to run small grounds... and for that amp no 4 is plenty...

Buy what you want. It's already been stated that either 4 or 1/0 would be fine in your situation.

I have a friend with a 15" L7 being run off of a 1200W amp with 4 gauge, and he sees voltage drop down to 11.8 or so at idle. But he also has a horrible Orscheln's battery that's dying.
