Nice thread. Just popped my "reconing" cherry last week.

Only thing I would add is to test fit the coil once the shims are in place and make sure it slides up/down freely with no side movement.

Also I used an MDF disk from a sub hole cutout in a box and set that on the roll of the surround and it held it in place fine, just set a few weights on it...

yea ive done a few in under 30 minutes with pullin it out the box, clean up and recone then back in , and i believe that ones actually still around playing too a few yrs after....

I was in a rush so I left a few things out... I will go back later and add the rest.... Activator is fine if you are in a rush to get a sub done quick when you need it fast. But If you want a strong bond let it sit overnite.... I use activator but I dont use to much..plus it turns everything white

I love doin them.. I dont think I would charge anything... Just as long you send it with its own glue.... Plus a deposit for return shipping.... So if you want one done send it on out to me
