OK my Knukonceptz ANL fuse block(or holder if u would) has melted somehow. I got

an eD NINe 1 set to about 1250watts rms im using a 200A fuse. I was dropping off

my dry cleaning and my music was down way down, i started to here some cliping

and then no bass. i get about 14.11V running from batt to fuse i used my DMM to

check, i DMM on the other end of fuse block and i get 5.11V max. Whats weird is i can

play my music as long as i dont go above 5.11V, thats retarded. I ordered a new

fuse to see if it will resolve my prob. But how do fuse blocks melt? im running 2awg

welding wire by the way. Is it possible since i didnt mount my fuse block to anything

it got a loose shaky conection and then POW!? I'll post pics when imy cam is

charged...

First, if you're only getting 5v to the amp, I'm amazed you didn't **** up the power supply.

Could've been a faulty fuse or fuse holder.Hard to understand exactly what you're saying without pics.

How is low voltage going to damage an unregulated amp?

Low voltage causes an amp to draw a lot more current than it otherwise would with good voltage. the power supply tries to maintain the designed rail voltage and it takes power to make power. If the voltage drops the current must increase to keep the power the same. Power supply transistors have a maximum current rating and if that rating is exceeded they go *poof*.

BTW there is really no such thing as an unregulated amp. Some are just more tightly regulated than others.

well hopefully i caught the prob before it messed up the amp. today is the day I get my new fuseBlock for the BIG III but i think i might have to order another fuseblock for the sub. It looks like rain today hopefully it doesnt rain.
