i recall your shop working on an exotic car of some kind...like a lambo. Didn't know you still do that
I've worked for Circuit City, Xtreme Sound, and currently Vertex Audio.

Done cars from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Rolls Royce... to the normal everyday GM's and Fords...

I'm sure of that. But i only recall you starting a thread on that Lambo build. Other cars...I don't think you really care anymore since you've worked on enough exotic cars by that time.

No I haven't held both in my hands. Let me guess, you're going to say that you've just so happened to have both of them in your hands each of them the exact same length and you felt a difference in the weight? You must have some pretty sensitive hands if you could do that. If you really wanna compare them and know if either one of them is shit you'll need to get an extremely sensitive ohm meter, and see if they have different results.

Did i say anywhere that there is a weight difference? I don't think i did. The difference is from the flexibility, in which it will make it a ton easier to work with. I'm willing to bet you that the Monster will have a thicker jacket than the Knu wires while having the same overall diameter. Then subtract the "magnetic flux tube" from that and you realize their overall diameter is even smaller when comparing the two. So it's your choice if you want to go with the Monster, i'll stick to something that is easier to work with and give me more copper for my money.

Buy it in small spools and do the math, it works out to be $2.40 a foot. His application he needs at least 30 feet. And how do you get more copper for your money when it's almost 50% more expensive?

As for the flexibility, I'm kinda confused. The knu wire supposedly has thicker copper, which isn't very flexible, and the monster wire supposedly has a thicker jacket which would make it more flexible. Unless the PVC jacket that knu makes is more flexible than the PVC monster makes, or the copper that knu makes is more flexible than the copper monster makes that would be kinda weird. The two should be practically identical in flexibility, and either one should be way more flexible than the welding wire. But the only real way to know which one has thicker wire or which one conducts better is to use a micrometer to measure the thickness of the wire or get a highly sensitive ohm meter and test both. They're virtually identical though if you do it.

the Knu uses a thin silicone jacket instead of the PVC jacket that the Monster use, thus contributing to their flexibility. I'm not sure if it's silicone or not, someone mentioned it to me. However, the materials are definitely different. Perhaps i'm not getting more copper for my money, but i suppose i would be paying the same amount of money if the Monster was to be produced the same as the Knu.

The thing about the copper. The knu doesn't have thicker copper, just a higher strand count, which contributes to flexibility.

I'm trying to find a thread that someone compared the diameter of the Monster to the Knu and Kicker and some other wires. That would help end the debate.

Knukonceptz's website says they use a PVC jacket. Only way it could really end the debate though is if the knukonceptz wire has 17/12 the wire that Monster does. Which would mean its diameter needs to be sqrt(17)/2sqrt(3) the size of the monster wire, or 1.19 times as thick.

Also, OP, you're gonna need more than 25 feet of wire unless you're driving a motorcycle or a Smartcar. If you're driving a smartcar you should just shoot yourself and save someone else the trouble lol.

It'll probably be about 20 feet to run positive power from front to back, a foot to run the positive posts on each of the back batteries together, another foot to run the negative posts on each of the back batteries together, another foot each to run the negatives on each of the rear batteries to the chassis, about five feet to run from the alternator to the front battery, and another foot to run from the front battery to the chassis, and another two to run from the front battery to the engine block. That's 32 feet already. To power your amp you'll need about a foot from each of the batteries to a distribution block, then another foot or two for the distribution block to the amp, so like 36 feet. Then another couple feet for the amp to the chassis ground or battery negative, and it's also not a bad idea to run negative power from the rear batteries to the front battery, so another 20 feet. 60 feet might be closer to what you need, no way you'll get away with 25.
