Knu Distros....Fuse once...Good Enough?

Alright...

Say I get this....

KNF-23-tn.jpg

2 1/0 in, and run 1 fused 1/0 out + 2 fused 4 out.

Then run that 1 fused 1/0 Out into this...

BC-1024B-tn.JPG

So it would then be 1 Fused 1/0 in, 2 4 out...to the amp

Would I need to fuse the 4's again since i already fused it's 1/0?

Also, i know they are labeled "ground" distro blocks.... but technically they can be used either way as a ground or to split power wires like in my instance? Is that correct?

Might actually end up using Ts as they are slightly cheaper.

Thx in advanced!

NO! You should not do this. Any time you reduce wire size you must fuse.

Why not just pick up 2 fused distros from Knu? Aren't they only like $6 more?

Just get 2 of the smaller ones. 1/0ga in and 2 4ga out.
Just tossing out ideas. Willin the future need 5-6 fused 4ga runs... so just trynna see my options, and also consider the aesthetics.

Thx though, i'll figure something else out.

I have always heard it's a good idea to fuse again when going from a larger wire to a smaller wire.
You're inviting a catastrophe if you don't... It's not a "good idea" to, it a "must do".

OP needs to get an distro block with 1/0 in, and 2 4ga. fused out.

He is fusing the the second block with the first block - if they are within 2 feet of each other I would not fuse it again - Are you using both inputs? if not the second input can be used to daisy chain to other blocks and you can fuse the outputs with the second block

You know, we had this convo in a pm b4....

I don't have to run 2 1/0ga in... i could daisy chain with one of the 1/0s!!! Thx man, you just fixed my prob!!

That was what i was attempting to do by using the 1/0 output into the 2nd distro.

Thats why we put the second input there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif to connect to cap/battery or other fuse block

So lets say I use 2 of the fused blocks....

Would just the 1 daisy chain wire from the first block power the 3 4ga outs of the 2nd block?

Or would I have to have that 2nd 1/0ga slot of the 2nd slot running power? Which I don't have a prob with, just wondering.

Assuming your main run of 1/0 can support the toal amperage of both blocks - Yes, one 1/0 wire from block A's input #2 connected to input #1 of block B is all you need
