knu 8/4 gauge pwr wire

The eKo Line has 1568 Strands of 36 Gauge wire, which yields 20.384mm^2 of area. Based on AWG Standard that is 4.18 Gauge. Stinger uses 1666 strands in their 4 gauge, which is dead on 4AWG.

Our Kolossus Kable uses 2058 Strands of 36 gauge copper, that yeilds 2.97AWG (26.754mm^2) So while the eKo is smaller then our top line it still is 4 gauge cable. There is a reason why the Kolossus more expensive, it has more copper then the eKo and 20% more then Stinger.

Here is a link to the chart of all our cables and actual sizes in Gauge and in inches

Either knu sent me out 8 gauge spade terminals, or you guys make them weird. There were the same size as an 8 gauge spade terminal but the 4 gauge fit in. Non the less I have 4 and 1/0 gauge kolossus cable and it is pretty nice cable.

The two are related, Gauge is determined by Area. The amount of strands and the gauge of the strands determine the area. Less Strands of Larger gauge have the same copper content area (diameter), but less surface area or contact area with in the cable. Electrons travel on the "edges" of the strands, so the more strands the more "edges" you have. If you have two cables made of the same gauge strand, the higher count is better. Most commonly used gauge strand is 36 gauge. In the crappy speaker wire you get with speakers, they are usually 8 strands of 32 or 30 gauge copper, so they equal 18 or 16 gauge, yet have very little contact area.

So you received the ST48, which is a 4 gauge cable inlet with a #8 spade connection. That is designed to fit 4 gauge cable to any amp with a #8 barrier strip connection. Before amps came with direct connection points, they used barrier or screw strips. These most often only worked up to 8 gauge cable. We solved that problem with that terminal, thus you can fit 4 gauge where only 8 gauge would fit before:

i bought the 4 guage kit a while back, no tthe eko one, its a nice kit i cant find anything wrong with it, the wire is blue also which makes me happy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif buy it, you shouldnt be hesitating //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
