Kenny's Results

Thats really the best option...

find someone you can trust that runs a shop and just ask them what will help.

Best of luck to ya... I hate to admit it, but I laughed when I saw the pics, but I know the feeling, my car hasnt been installed yet because just hauling all the equipment (no enclosure materials) made it sag too much:crazy:

Good luck on making it to finals:)

Calm down guys, 9/10 of my threads turn into flame fests...
Thank you Mikey for doing a lot of searching for me. Get other people convinced and I'll see what I can do about purchasing them.

If someone gets my car to not sag without killing me (both literally and price-wise) I promise you a 155+ burp out of my daily driver...
legal?

it'd be an improvement from the 152.2.

actually it'd be freakin amazing.

Hi everyone. Buzz here. I heard there was some drama on the CA forum. I thought I'd try to clear it up a bit.

I met Kenny at the New Year's event out at Clearwater on Saturday. I've seen his posts on our forum at FloridaSPL.com and I wanted to make sure I found him at the show. We spoke briefly and went about our business. After the show he IM'd me on AIM and said that he blew a sub. I told him, "It happens. Get over it and learn from it." Then he talked about reconing in dual 2 and how FI said it couldn't be done. I told him it could be done, but probably with different parts. Then I said he could buy all of FI's parts loose and I could get him coils that would fit.

See, I figured the top plate was different on the motors based on coil diameter. The dual 1's must be smaller, so they tighten the gap to increase BL. Makes sense, but not if you're Kenny and you want to change coils.

I've been into car audio since I was 15 years old. I've got years of experience in building systems, blowing up equipment, and researching the science. I own my own shop where I do custom car work, mostly car audio/video. I met JD several years ago when I bought some speakers from him. We became friends but only communicated a couple times a year. At 04 finals we got together and he told me about T3. He asked me if I was interested in helping out, and I said, "sure."

I've helped him with R&D, displays, meeting people in the booths, etc. I don't WORK for T3. They have paid me on occasion to do work for them, but I'm not on the payroll.

I know of FI audio and Scott's part in RE. In the past year alone, I have seen the insides of literally hundreds of motors, including FI's. I've learned a TON about the physics of speaker construction, etc. I have a personal passion for car audio. I find it fascinating. I don't know any more about speakers than can be found on the internet with a little experinece. There are plenty of people who have forgotten more than I'll ever know. I don't claim to be an expert. I am not a spy, especially not for T3. JD can buy FI's subs and take them apart if he wants to. He doesn't need me to help him.

Kenny is in Florida so I plan on seeing more of him. I am part owner/operator of FloridaSPL.com and I have an interest in helping ANYONE with their audio system. I'm not above any one of you. I consider myself a friend who likes to help people out if I can. There are plenty of people on this forum who can tell you that I will drop what I'm doing and help you out if you ask. As a matter of fact, you can AIM me at CalusaCustomConcepts anytime you like.

Ultimately, it makes no difference to me if I am the one who helps Kenny out. I have an interest in him getting better results. You will never hear of me trying to sell him T3's or something stupid like that. I merely offered to help him build his subs, with the motors that he has, in the coil configuration that he wants. What Kenny chooses to do is his choice.

Thanks for your time.

Kenny, I linked you to what you needed to do airride wise last night. It was close to $600 and needed to be assemblied also. That was just the air strut parts. No tanks, gauges, airline, compressors, eyc.

The spring helpers angrytrucker linked to should work. Tommy, the springs have to be sitting on something, they can't just float or they would be useless.

Putting air shocks back there is also another option that will work till you save for the air suspension installation.

I have installed alot of air suspension parts, but none have been struts.

Buzz, thank you for clearing that up. Sorry to put your name in here, Casey and I tried clearing things up but no one wants to listen.

Like I said in the thread, there are two people I would trust with reconing my subwoofer in Florida. Buzz and Shawn. Shawn is a great guy too, but he's VERY busy.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'm going to my girlfriend's dad's mechanic after a shower.

Went to the mechanic, he's gonna try coil spacers tomorrow... like rubber blocks or something
yea i had a few friends use this on their cars for some odd reason to raise the front end, had a friend use two heavy duty spacers on the front of his car and it at least raised the front end by 4 inches
