<blockquote data-quote="CalusaConcepts" data-source="post: 2514513" data-attributes="member: 564899">Hi everyone.&nbsp; Buzz here.&nbsp; I heard there was some drama on the CA forum.&nbsp; I thought I&#039;d try to clear it up a bit.I met Kenny at the New Year&#039;s event out at Clearwater on Saturday.&nbsp; I&#039;ve seen his posts on our forum at FloridaSPL.com and I wanted to make sure I found him at the show.&nbsp; We spoke briefly and went about our business.&nbsp; After the show he IM&#039;d me on AIM and said that he blew a sub.&nbsp; I told him, &quot;It happens.&nbsp; Get over it and learn from it.&quot;&nbsp; Then he talked about reconing in dual 2 and how FI said it couldn&#039;t be done.&nbsp; I told him it could be done, but probably with different parts.&nbsp; Then I said he could buy all of FI&#039;s parts loose and I could get him coils that would fit.See, I figured the top plate was different on the motors based on coil diameter.&nbsp; The dual 1&#039;s must be smaller, so they tighten the gap to increase BL.&nbsp; Makes sense, but not if you&#039;re Kenny and you want to change coils.I&#039;ve been into car audio since I was 15 years old.&nbsp; I&#039;ve got years of experience in building systems, blowing up equipment, and researching the science.&nbsp; I own my own shop where I do custom car work, mostly car audio/video.&nbsp; I met JD several years ago when I bought some speakers from him.&nbsp; We became friends but only communicated a couple times a year.&nbsp; At 04 finals we got together and he told me about T3.&nbsp; He asked me if I was interested in helping out, and I said, &quot;sure.&quot;I&#039;ve helped him with R&amp;amp;D, displays, meeting people in the booths, etc.&nbsp; I don&#039;t WORK for T3.&nbsp; They have paid me on occasion to do work for them, but I&#039;m not on the payroll.I know of FI audio and Scott&#039;s part in RE.&nbsp; In the past year alone, I have seen the insides of literally hundreds of motors, including FI&#039;s.&nbsp; I&#039;ve learned a TON about the physics of speaker construction, etc.&nbsp; I have a personal passion for car audio.&nbsp; I find it fascinating.&nbsp; I don&#039;t know any more about speakers than can be found on the internet with a little experinece.&nbsp; There are plenty of people who have forgotten more than I&#039;ll ever know.&nbsp; I don&#039;t claim to be an expert.&nbsp; I am not a spy, especially not for T3.&nbsp; JD can buy FI&#039;s subs and take them apart if he wants to.&nbsp; He doesn&#039;t need me to help him.Kenny is in Florida so I plan on seeing more of him.&nbsp; I am part owner/operator of FloridaSPL.com and I have an interest in helping ANYONE with their audio system.&nbsp; I&#039;m not above any one of you.&nbsp; I consider myself a friend who likes to help people out if I can.&nbsp; There are plenty of people on this forum who can tell you that I will drop what I&#039;m doing and help you out if you ask.&nbsp; As a matter of fact, you can AIM me at CalusaCustomConcepts anytime you like.Ultimately, it makes no difference to me if I am the one who helps Kenny out.&nbsp; I have an interest in him getting better results.&nbsp; You will never hear of me trying to sell him T3&#039;s or something stupid like that.&nbsp; I merely offered to help him build his subs, with the motors that he has, in the coil configuration that he wants.&nbsp; What Kenny chooses to do is his choice.Thanks for your time.</blockquote>
