Just put My new Sub in...

Funny thing is this kid is always making recommendations to people even though he doesn't know how to properly use the equipment.

Kid, if you get smart and want to set your gains properly you will also need, besides the DMM, a sine wave cd. I am sure if you search the forum you can find the sine waves in mp3 format. Most people use 50 hertz I believe.

wow yall turned into some bitter assholez pretty fast

It's funny because sometimes when someone asks for a opinion they already have a idea of what they want to do and then when you give them advice they say something that makes you want to strangle them for asking in the first place.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

trooth

I have a question. out of curiousity, what is the purpose of the gain knob if it doesn't regulate RMS output? someone said earlier that your amp could be putting out full power at 1/8 or 1/4 of the gain turned up. If thats so, why does it affect volume at all? I'm not saying anyone is wrong. I just want to know how and why it works.

dont worry about your gains they are fine.... you DO want to break in your sub by first: cutting the end off an extension cord, wiring it to your type R (paying att. to polarity) plug it in till it smokes then your ready, and saved everyone the time of trying to help you for nothin sorr bout the run on:wow:

it's a trap no one answer this question,^^^^^^^^ you will just get "im going to turn my knob all the way up till I hear my sub pop".
actually I just want to understand how it works. but thanks anyways

You have to adjust the gain to accommodate the input signal. It depends how loud you turn up your head unit as well as the voltage it is capable of outputting.

The higher the input signal, the lower the gain.
