yea i dont think the amp is overrated i heard only the larger hifonics are so can i turn the gain all the way up lol?

never turn the gain knob all the way up.....set with the dmm to "max" (output not knob position)

I personally have never "broken in" a sub.....

Take it easy on it for a few hours, give it some time to break in.

ok a played it yesterday for a little bit then turned it off and let it rest before i cranked it again so u think im good now or wait another day or so

The equipment you have is good enough to warrant setting it up correctly. A basic DMM costs under $30, and it will be useful for a long time.

FYI, the gain is not a volume knob. It could be doing full power at a 1/4 turn, 1/8 turn, 3/4 turn. That is why you need a DMM to find out approximately how much power you're sending your sub.

GO ahead and crank that gain up brotha. Dont forget bass boost on the amp and your cd player!
