Considering the CVR isn't targeted towards the "audiophile", I fail to see why you are surprised by this ?
It's intent is solid bass with adequate sound quality for street beaters on a budget.

That's like complaining that the Ford Escort is slow. Well no shit it's slow, it wasn't designed for street racing.
