It was semi loud in the higher frequencies.

2 15's sealed 800 rms for the pair

I was not impressed. The lows were not there. Offcourse i am used to super sub bass... xxx, mx, ect

but the low end was just not there. SQ was decent, nothing special.... Dont waste your money on em

HAHAHA Where is PoleCat.
They were probably in the worst enclosure ever and for the money those speakers are great.

This was a horrible post!

You cant beat the money for these, a friend of mine had two of the silver and black 15's back in the day off of 800 rms. In a ported box deff hit the lows and was loud.

I heard two 15's in a sealed box off of 400w each, too. My uncle had that setup a while back. Not bad but I wasn't really impressed. They got low enough, I just didn't like the SQ of the sub. Not the greatest transient response on rock music. But than I don't really listen to rock so whatever.

from my personal experience, CVRs are liked caged beasts when sealed. Once you port them the animal is loose. They can get loud and low with authority. Not a "sloppy" sounding sub either. So /your review

I am not alone

I mean if some thing is hyped, it should be backed up. It was a good install, proper box. what I am saying a real audiophile does really notice the difference when it comes to quality build of subs... .. not saying the cvr is bad for the avg joe, but for audio freak boy, not gonna cut it.

My stepbrother has some of the new model Kicker CVR 12's on an MA Audio 1889i, 800 watts, in a 3 cube sealed box and I also am not impressed. They hit the mid to high frequencies well but they do not hit the lows with any authority. They hit the lows just not loud at all. And this is in an enclosure 1 cube bigger than they suggest. The manual only called for 1 cube a piece but the QTC was near 1, which is a little boomy, I added another cube and it brought the qtc down to .85, but the lows are stil lacking. I think it might be because it is a sealed box. I have heard from some people that they do not reach full potential or sound as good as they can unless in a ported box.

I was considering doing some cvr's for my car.

but right now.. CVX or jl w3's

I am only going tis route because i am buying local.. and these are cheap

2 12 w3's for 150 and 2 cvx 15 for 200 ( with box)

Considering the CVR isn't targeted towards the "audiophile", I fail to see why you are surprised by this ?

It's intent is solid bass with adequate sound quality for street beaters on a budget.

That's like complaining that the Ford Escort is slow. Well no shit it's slow, it wasn't designed for street racing.

poast of the year. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

how are we supposed to know youre an audiophile when you have 11 posts?????

for money to bang ratio kicker cvx's are the shit

and of you make a box bigger than you are supposed to of course it will sound like shit

the resonance is lost cause there is to much space between to the port and the sub.

in other words if you were in a 20x20 room and you shot a gun it would be 3 times as loud as if you were in an 80x80 room cause as sound travels it gets weaker.

this is true, I saw some lost resonance on the side of the road earlier //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

I think one of the best subs on the market for durability, sound, and money all combined is the CVR, put them in a sealed 2 to 2.25 cu.ft. box, and WOW. They sound great. I had 2 CVR15s on my 250 hcca, and they sounded awesome.

If you want pure SQ or pure SPL, look elsewhere.
