just got 2 subs only 1 works

ok so i just bought 2 subs from my friends

there some 12" e types

i have been running a single sub off my sony xm-1252GTR amp

this amp is supposed to be able to power two subs which is why i bought some

well i have tried every **** combination of wiring to the terminals

and no matter what only one works

its as if im only getin power to one set of positive and negative terminals

i switched the wires a few times, and both subs work and have been on, just not at the same time

any ideas???? i have not been this frustrated in a very long while

i bought the amp new and i shouldnt have problems with it, not everyone can just afford to "get a new amp"

is there any other thing that could be wrong with it

like i said it seems as if im just gettin power to one set of terminals

it is a bridgeable amp but i dono if that has anything to do with it.

i did have it brdged when i was running my last sub

thats what i was thinking about doing

but i had no idea if that was a even smart idea, i figured i would end up catching my car on fire or soemthing hah

so this is realtively safe correct? and will the amp still split the power correctly

im(supposed to be) pushing 340 rms bridged with this amp

they are single 4 ohm woofers right? also is your amp 2 ohm stable?

yes about the woofers

and in my amp manual, in one of the diagrams it says min. 2 ohms, so i assume that it is stable at 2 ohms

ok take one wire from woofer A's positive terminal and hook it to woofer B's positive terminal. do the same for both negative's. then take a wire from each of woofer B's terminal and bridge it to the amp.

Wire them the way the FIRST diagram shows. That will give you 2 ohms by wiring the two 4 ohm voice coils in parallel. The two leads on the left go to the amp.

then stick another set of + and - wire in one of the woofers and then back to the amp?
