2 ga wiring kit

My amp has inputs for 2 ga wire but i wanted to run 1/0. Can i do this with a distro block 1/0 and 2 ga out? or should i just buy a 2 gauge wire kit and do that? its for a hifonics bxi2006d

just do like i did

trim the 1/0 down to 2 gauge.. its easy

i had to go from 1/0 to 4 guage

fits perfectsly and no more money spent

bump i don't have the length either i need like 20 ft to go to the back of my navigator. theres only about 17ft in a kit...suggestions?

Go to KnuKonceptz ... they're wire is top notch and you can get it in any length you want.

Get the 1/0 and a distro block, don't cut it down.

well with their kits it only has 17ft so i would need that to a distro and about 4 ft more from the distro to the amp. But its still 1/0 how would i get that into the amp if it fits 2awg.

Would be a good idea to get a distrobution block if he's setting up multiple amps but your explaination warrants little explanation of why not. . . . . just my 2 cents

Making it fit properly is using the correct wire in the first place... whats the point of buying more expensive 1/0 wire and limiting it's abilities by cutting it down to jam into a smaller receptacle?

Doing it right the first time will save you time and effort in the long run.

As for the 1/0 to 2ga ... dunno what to tell you. Couldn't find them no Partsexpress or cardomain.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you need to have 2 awg input. You will be fine with a long 1/0 run to a distro block and then a SHORT 4 awg run to the amp. Just strip off a little extra and fold over the strands of the 4 awg if it doesn't fit perfectly into the 2 awg input on the amp.
