Just bought a 15" type R and....

I am just wondering how it will sound with a Directed 1200d if anyone has tried it? I am thinking about doing a sealed box however I need to know the right amount of space to give it? What have most of you been successful with?

hahha. tcab's are not impressive one little bit to me.

your gonna need to port it with more power. 3.5 cubes @ 34hz with atleast 2000 watts rms.

well of course they're not. they are just a standard ported box with a company name.

they may or may not work for your car. the idea was just to bullshit you into thinking they can make a ported box perfect for every vehicle out there.

got a grandam? we can make a ported box that will maximize output.

got a explorer? we can do that too.

Lol I am going to go sealed, from the past I have liked the sound of sealed more than ported. I like the clean tight bass. I am not looking for spl by any means. I am just curious about what size of sealed box sounds the best from those who have gone with a sealed enclosure and this sub before. Thanks though

if you were going for pure SQ then you shouldn't have bought a Type R. Much better subs out there. But of course the whole SQ thing is somewhat subjective, however, I heard one and even whenever I tried to blend it with the speakers I didn't like how it sounded. /shrug.

odd, i feel the SQ is pretty good on the R's. had eD subs before that and were known for their SQ, but didnt sound that nice to me.
