i dont have any amps at the moment but thank you for the opportunity wouldve loved to clamp the soundstorm, and yes it did blow but it wasnt the amp it was my ****** wiring, turned out to short inside the box ***** cus it was the first day i got the whole setup together, but sent the boss back home for a refund cus i have higher priotiies at the moment.

i have proof that just because the amps said 5000 did not make them the same, yes i do know they are owned by the same parent company. but thanks for input yo.

so what makes you think the SSL amp is going to be a better quality/more powerful amp than that of the Boss?

i ran both amps obviously, had both cracked open with pics to compare, the ssl amp was externally fused, the boss was internally fused with also smaller fuse rating (not that this can make a difference). the boss board was nearly empty while the ssl was decently filled. i know facts and have the first hand experience with them so unless you know something else that i dont go for it.

Nothing wrong with going budget, but I would hit up some sales on CL or even here and buy some used stuff that is better quality. I have about 1000 into mine and been rocking it 2 years now and bout to throw it up for sale as I need some monies for more important stuff.

I am just saying, you can find some killer deals, just have to shop around some and would be better off in the long run....

I did a 145.1 with two older Pioneer Premier 250-spl 10's and a kerfed ported box off a 2608 Hifonics(Bought that new) and ran at 2-ohms for right around 1800rms....still kicking arse!

sad thing is DB-Audio, I looked at ur old system and I have ur exact same headunit.

Wal-mart V3 HU!. SD/USB/Aux w/ remote, got mine on clearance for 89+tax.

For the price, and it's functionality (mainly usb/SD reading) I can't get over the deal that I got on it, and the usage --thus far.
